That's over the top

I love sports. I love watching sports. I love Sportscenter. All that said, sports announcers are killing me with exaggeration! Every game can't be "one of the greatest ever played" in the history of mankind, and there can't be an "unbelievable" play every game. If it happens every game then it will eventually become believable right?

Watch this video of a sweet dunk from last night's Cavs vs. Celtics game. Be amazed at Lebron James, but be even more amazed at the over exaggeration of the announcer. No regard for human life?!? Does that mean he was trying to murder Kevin Garnett? I'm pretty sure that's illegal, even in Cleveland.

Why couldn't Marv Albert trust his patented "YES!" in this situation? Perhaps by saying "no regard for human life" Marv is tipping his hand that he has proof that Lebron is actually not human and we are all quite fortunate on those days that #23 has "some" regard for human life. Count your lucky stars, brother, count 'em.
Shame of you for forcing me to watch the NBA.

Well see, LeBron wasn't trying to injure Kevin but he does indeed hold his life in low regard. I think that's what this orator was trying to say.
Ha, yea I agree. And every catch in baseball is "the greatest I've ever seen"! I'm not one for hyperbole but those statements are absolutely the most offensive things in the history of mankind.

Ah yes. I knew I could count on my boys from Reevesville to appreciate this post. I miss the days when we would talk about these important topics over an omlete at Alex's.

I was at Alex's yesterday. The Christmas haiku is still there

Wait. You can't reference such historical data and remain anonymous.

I want to see Kaka dunking over Garnett, then I will be complete!

Dave, I haven't talked to him to be sure, but I'm pretty sure that comment about the haiku was from Pauley. BTW, happy velcro day!
